Grischa Chen is a scientific lab manager at the Carnegie Institution for Science since October 2022, previously serving as a postdoctoral researcher at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies from November 2017 to December 2022, where research focused on insulin signaling and host metabolism related to bacterial pathogen resistance and tolerance. Prior to this, Grischa Chen worked as a graduate research assistant at the University of Wisconsin-Madison from December 2011 to June 2017, studying the pathogenesis of Listeria monocytogenes in macrophages, and as a junior research specialist at UC Davis from August 2008 to July 2011, conducting research on bacterial chemotaxis and enzyme regulation. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Microbiology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Microbiology from the University of California, Davis.
