Ben Collier

Ben Collier, PhD, is an Assistant Teaching Professor of Business Analytics at Carnegie Mellon University, where tenure began in August 2024. With a robust career in data science and analytics, Collier has served as Principal Data Scientist at Hot Metal AI since October 2018 and held various roles at Duolingo from February 2020 to June 2023, culminating in positions of Staff, Lead, and Senior Data Scientist. Previous to this, leadership in data science was demonstrated as Senior Director at UPMC from September 2016 to February 2020. Collier's academic contributions also include an adjunct professorship at Carnegie Mellon University from October 2023 to May 2024 and earlier positions as an Assistant Teaching Professor and Co-Director of Executive Education.
