Kate Thompson has a diverse work experience in various organizations. Kate started their career as a Senior Resource Consultant at Fayette County Community Action Agency, Inc in 2008 and worked there until 2013. Kate then joined the U.S. Department of Energy as a Technical Writer from 2013 to 2014. After that, they returned to Fayette County Community Action Agency, Inc as the Director of Planning and Development for a brief period in 2014. In 2015, they joined Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh and held multiple roles within the organization. Kate worked as a Grant Manager at Carnegie Museum of Natural History from 2015 to 2017, followed by an Assistant Director of Government Grants from 2017 to 2019. From 2019 onwards, they served as the Director of Government Grants until they were promoted to the position of Senior Director of Government Partnerships and Major Initiatives in January 2021.
Kate Thompson completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in English Literature and Professional Writing from the University of Pittsburgh between 2004 and 2008. Kate further pursued their education at Chatham University from 2011 to 2013 and earned a Master of Professional Writing degree in the field of Professional Writing.
