Chris Choy is the co-founder of Carnot Innovations, a company they joined in 2018. In this role, they created core analytics products that monitored over 100k sensors and uncovered 90% of faults and operation issues within buildings. Chris also deployed smart optimization algorithms to directly control building operations, resulting in energy savings of up to 15% on top of existing automated controls. Chris was responsible for growing the team from the ground up.
Prior to Carnot Innovations, Chris served as the EFHK1 Founder In Residence at Entrepreneur First from July to November 2018. Chris also worked as a Senior Specialist at BASF from March 2017 to July 2018.
Before that, Chris worked at Clustertech from March 2014 to February 2017 as a Senior Computational Scientist. In this role, they delivered various data analytics projects in customer analytics, text mining, and time series forecast. Notable accomplishments include data mining customer addresses to uncover upselling potential, resulting in a 5% increase in sales. Chris also revamped customer segmentation models to identify two new strategic customer segments: customers with high churn rates and ultra-high net worth customers.
Chris has previous experience as a Class Tutor at the University of Oxford from September 2009 to June 2012 and as an Intern at Bank of America in June to August 2008.
Chris Choy's education history begins in 2005, where they attended St. John's College at the University of Oxford. From 2005 to 2009, they pursued a degree in MMath Mathematics and Statistics. Following this, Chris continued their education at the University of Oxford, obtaining a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Statistics, specifically from 2009 to 2013.
