David E. Melon, MD, FACS has a diverse work experience in the field of otolaryngology. Currently, they serve as the Chair of the Otolaryngology Private Practice Section at the American Academy of Otolaryngology, a position they assumed in October 2023. Prior to this, they held the role of Vice Chairman- Private Practice Study Group at the same academy from November 2021 to October 2023.
Dr. Melon also has ample experience in private practice, having served as the President of Carolina Ear, Nose & Throat - Sinus and Allergy Center, PA since August 2012.
Furthermore, they have been actively involved in the North Carolina Medical Society as the President of the NC Society of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery since October 2021, with their term set to end in June 2023.
David E. Melon, MD, FACS completed their education at several prestigious institutions. From 2007 to 2012, they attended The Ohio State University, where they participated in the Otolaryngology Residency Program. Prior to that, from 2003 to 2007, they studied at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and earned their Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree. David E.'sundergraduate education was obtained from the University of Virginia, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Cognitive Science from 1999 to 2003.
