Paula Pecen

Paula Pecen is an experienced ophthalmologist currently working at Carolina Eye Associates PA since February 2021. Prior to this role, Paula completed a vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at Cleveland Clinic-Cole Eye Institute from July 2014 to June 2016 and served as an ophthalmologist at Duke Eye Center from July 2011 to June 2014. Paula obtained a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) from Duke University School of Medicine, completing studies there from 2006 to 2014, and attended Presbyterian St. Lukes Medical Center from 2010 to 2011. Paula also holds a Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Neuroscience, Philosophy, and Psychology from Washington University in St. Louis, studied at the United States Naval Academy during 2000-2001, and has an extensive educational background in medicine and related fields.
