Doug Reid is the Vice President of Exploration at Carrizo Oil & Gas. Doug has over 20 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, with a focus on exploration.

Doug started their career in 1997 as an Explorationist with Edge Petroleum. Doug was responsible for generating oil and gas drilling prospects using 3-D and 2-D seismic with subsurface data. Doug also developed sales packages and presented prospects to potential investors/partners. During their time with Edge Petroleum, they were responsible for the discovery of Cuatro de Julio, Feliz Navidad, and Sarco Creek.

In 2000, Doug joined Carrizo Oil and Gas as a Senior Explorationist. In this role, they were responsible for generating oil and gas prospects in Texas and south Louisiana incorporating 3-D and 2-D seismic with subsurface data. Doug also evaluated prospects from outside generators for potential investment and generated play concepts including gas & oil resource plays. During their time with Carrizo Oil and Gas, they were responsible for the discovery of Provenance, Faith-Mag Deep, and MegaMata.

In 2020, Doug joined Callon Petroleum as a Contract Geoscientist.

Doug Reid has a PhD in Geology from the University of Houston.

They are on a team with Brad Fisher - Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Greg Percival - Vice President and Chief Information Officer, and Greg Conaway - Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer. Their manager is S.P. Johnson, CEO & President.
