Anup Kumar

Anup Kumar is the current Refurbishment Head at CARS24. Anup has over 20 years of experience in the automotive industry, with a focus on after-sales operations. Anup has held various positions at Trading Enterprises - Al-Futtaim, most recently as General Manager - After Sales. In this role, they were responsible for the profitability of the after-sales department and achieving high levels of customer and employee engagement.

Under Anup's leadership, the project for building 5 new service and parts centres in different Emirates / Central Parts Department / Body centre was successfully completed, with an overall CAPEX of over $50Mn and ROI of all new facilities within 3 years. Anup also boosted stock turn ratios from 3.8 to 4.8 by implementing an inventory management solution - Syncron - with a focus on forecast accuracy and having the right part in stock in the right quantity. In addition, they strengthened service absorption from 85% to 98% by improving after-sales growth-margin through differential and dynamic pricing strategies and reducing indirect expenses.

During their time at Trading Enterprises - Al-Futtaim, Anup achieved best-in-ME region results for FCA Service Contract sales / Parts Sales / Accessories Sales on numerous occasions. Anup also build an employee engagement culture and achieved departmental roll up score of over 4.5 /out of 5 during the years 2013 to 2015 in the Gallup survey. Furthermore, they significantly enhanced service retention from 60.5% to 72.3% by implementing new processes such as Extended warranty / Service contracts / Service Reminder / Lost customer acquisition / Essential Servic package.

Anup was also involved in acquiring / launching the complete after sales operations of two new auto brands - Lotus and FISKER. Lastly, they devised and improved Automall Used Car preparation process with focus on cost / quality and turn around time. Anup set up a 22 hr operation - three shifts to produce cars averaging 35 a day.

After completing a BE in MECHANICAL from the Coimbatore Institute of Technology, Anup Kumar pursued a Diploma in Systems Management from JBIMS. Anup then went on to complete an MBA in Operations from the University of Leicester.
