Eric Hurkman

VP of Engineering, Investors Services at Carta

Eric Hurkman is currently the VP of Engineering at Carta. Prior to this, they served as the Chief Technology Officer at SAY from January 2018 to June 2019. At SAY, Eric was responsible for building a better shareholder rights platform that would allow investors to engage and impart change on the companies they owned. Eric used React, Python, Kubernetes, Swift, and Realm to achieve this goal.

Before SAY, Eric was the Chief Technology Officer at Carta (formerly known as eShares) from January 2014 to February 2018. As CTO, Eric led a team of 60+ engineers across offices in San Francisco, Palo Alto, Seattle, New York, and Rio de Janeiro. Eric was responsible for various engineering efforts across the platform, including APIs, databases, and front-end products.

Prior to Carta, Eric served as the Engineering Lead at drchrono from January 2012 to January 2014. In this role, they were responsible for leading various engineering efforts across the platform, including APIs, databases, and front-end products on a large-scale electronic health record platform.
