Garrett Held

Garrett Held has extensive work experience in the field of information security. Garrett currently holds the role of Chief Information Security Officer and SVP Engineering at Carta, where they have implemented risk-based quantification and developed a program focused on resilience and automation. Prior to that, Held worked at Twilio Inc. as the Head of Security Engineering, where they led the growth and development of a resilient security engineering team. Garrett also served as the Senior Director of Security at tCell.io, Inc., where they designed and implemented innovative security features. Held has experience at Salesforce as well, where they served as the Director of Acquisition Security and the Principal Product Security Engineer, overseeing successful acquisitions and providing security expertise for major projects. Garrett also worked at Trustwave as a Managing Consultant, specializing in application security, and at Deloitte & Touche and Infotex as a Security Consultant, implementing identity management solutions and conducting security tests.

Garrett Held has a partially completed computer science degree from Purdue University. In addition, they hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Systems and Business from Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis.
