Rebecca Hui

2024 Jury, 2021 Laureate at Cartier Women's Initiative

Rebecca Hui serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Roots Studio since January 2017 and has been involved with the Cartier Women's Initiative as a 2024 Jury member and 2021 Laureate. Hui also contributed as a New Inc Mentor at the New Museum of Contemporary Art from September 2019 to December 2020 and was a Fellow at Unreasonable from November 2018 to June 2020. As a 2023 Judge and 2016 Fellow at Echoing Green, Hui's early career included work as an MIT-TATA Research Fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, focusing on water and infrastructure planning in collaboration with The World Bank and the Government of India. Additionally, Hui served as a Fulbright Research Scholar with the U.S. Department of State, mapping urban wildlife in India, and held the title of Explorer with the National Geographic Society in 2013. Hui's educational background includes a degree in Urban Design and Planning from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and business education from the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business.
