Giulia Carella has worked in various roles since 2012. Giulia began their career as a Trainee in Optimization and Planning for Comdata SpA in 2012. In 2013, they moved to the National Oceanography Centre as a Statistician. In 2017, they became a Postdoctoral Researcher at IPSL-Institut Pierre-Simon Laplace. In 2018, Giulia began working at CARTO as a Data Scientist, later becoming a Scientific Advisor and then returning to the role of Data Scientist. In 2020, they joined the Barcelona Supercomputing Center as a Research Scientist in AI for Earth Sciences.
Giulia Carella received their Bachelor's degree in Physics from Università degli Studi di Milano in 2009. Giulia then went on to earn a Master of Science (MSc) in Physics from the same university in 2012. In 2013, Giulia began their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Ocean and Earth Science at the University of Southampton, which they completed in 2017.
