Roberto Antolin Sanchez has a wide range of work experience. In 2021, they began working as a Data Engineer at CARTO, where they design and implements ETL pipelines, machine learning solutions, and analyses geo-spatial data. From 2018 to 2021, they worked as a Software Engineer at Five AI, where they designed and implemented a Scenario Description Language. From 2014 to 2018, they were a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Roslin Institute, where they maintained and enhanced a group's imputation algorithm. In 2013, they worked as a Programmer at Forestry Commission, where they developed a QGIS plugin for LiDAR processing. From 2008 to 2013, they held roles as an Associate Professor and Researcher at UCM, an R&D Project Manager at Stereocarto, and a PhD Candidate at Politecnico di Milano. Finally, in 2004 and 2002, they worked as a Photo-interpreter at Tragsatec and an Undergraduate Traineeship at the European Space Agency, respectively.

Roberto Antolin Sanchez began their education in 1995, earning a Licenciatura en CC. Matemáticas in Astronomy and Geodesy from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid in 2001. Roberto then pursued a Postgrado in Celestial Mechanics at the same university, graduating in 2004. In 2005, they began a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Geodesy and Geomatics at the Politecnico di Milano, which they completed in 2008.
