Valentín de la Cruz Barquero has worked in various roles in the software development industry since 2013. In that year, they held a research fellowship at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, where they developed a wheelchair simulator with a moving platform of 3 degrees of freedom, researched augmented reality, and integrated the Oculus Rift 3D glasses in the wheelchair simulator. Valentín also worked as a trainee software developer at Simumak, where they worked on software and hardware integrations using Unity 3D. From 2014 to 2015, they worked as a freelance software developer at Simumak, and as a software engineer at Moribuss, where they were responsible for personality capture surveys using HTML5 and JavaScript, and online card videogame development using Unity 3D. Valentín was also the project lead at Medical Simulator, where they were responsible for decision making in IT projects and project management, as well as the development of an app connected to a tourniquet simulator and AR demos. In 2018, they worked as a UI/Gameplay programmer at Ubisoft Annecy. Most recently, in 2021, they began working as a C++ Developer at CARTO.
Valentín de la Cruz Barquero obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Telecommunication Systems Engineering from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid between 2009 and 2013. Valentín then went on to obtain a Master's Degree in Management and Development of Videogames - Playstation from Universidad Europea between 2013 and 2014. Additionally, they have obtained certifications in Advanced C++ Programming Training Course from Udemy, Game Devs Unleash Artificial Intelligence: Flocking Agents from Udemy, and edX Verified Certificate for Artificial Intelligence from edX.
