Brian Fitzgibbon

Brian FitzGibbon, PhD, currently serves as a Data Scientist at CarTrawler since January 2022. Prior to this role, Brian worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at CÚRAM, SFI Research Centre for Medical Devices, where computational modeling of mechanical failure in sputtered coatings was a key focus. Brian's background includes extensive experience as a Postgraduate Researcher at the National University of Ireland, Galway, specializing in mathematical and computational modeling of soft tissue fractures and predicting cardiovascular events, as well as a Research Fellow at the Western Vascular Institute, where Brian utilized healthcare data to model disease progression and successfully identified undetected aortic dissection cases. Earlier experience includes an internship at Medtronic, where root causes of defective production pieces were analyzed. Brian holds a PhD in Biomedical Engineering and a Bachelor’s degree in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering, both from the University of Galway.
