Julie Walters

Julie Walters has extensive work experience in finance and leadership roles. Their most recent position is Head of Finance at Cartwright King Solicitors, a role they started in December 2022. Prior to that, they worked at AWH Solicitors from 2016 to 2021, serving as Head of Finance and Group Financial Controller. Julie also held the position of Financial Controller at Carter Law Solicitors Ltd from 2016 to 2017. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Finance & HR Manager at Prodware (UK) Limited from 2006 to 2015, and as a Financial Accountant at Westbury Homes from 2001 to 2006. Julie has also had roles as a Financial Accountant at Startech (Pty) Ltd and a Public Relations Officer/Finance Assistant at Renak Alumet Technologies. Julie began their career as a Supervisor at Pick n Pay in 1984. Julie's experience includes financial management, system design, team leadership, and implementing processes and policies for increased efficiency.

Julie Walters has a diverse education history with a focus on accounting, finance, and public relations. Julie obtained qualifications in various areas of accounting, including a diploma in Advanced Accounting, Practical Accounting, and Bookkeeping from Damelin in 1995. In the same period, they also completed a Higher National Diploma in Public Relations at Vaal University of Technology in 1990. To further enhance their accounting skills, Julie pursued the FMAAT qualification from AAT and also obtained an MAAT from AAT in 2004. Additionally, they attended Kaplan Financial in 2004 to earn a degree in FMAAT. Julie continued to expand their knowledge in the field of accounting by pursuing a CIMA (Chartered Institute Management Accountant) management accountant degree from The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants in 2008.

In addition to their accounting education, Julie has also completed various certifications and seminars relevant to their career. Julie participated in an SRA Account Rules seminar by MBL Seminars Ltd in 2016 and obtained a certification for Solicitors Accounts Rules for Accounts Staff. Julie further enhanced their understanding of the Solicitors Accounts Rules by attending another seminar from MBL Seminars Ltd in 2021. Moreover, Julie obtained the Chartered Financial Forecasting, Budgeting, and Modeling Professional (CFBM™) certification from the Chartered Institute of Professional Certifications in 2023.

Julie's education history also includes certifications and qualifications outside the accounting field. Julie attended MBLS Seminars in 2016 to learn about SRA Rules for Accounts Staff and received a certification. Moreover, they obtained a diploma in Commercial Management from The Institute of Commercial Management in 1995.

Lastly, Julie also acquired additional certifications related to their career. Julie became a member of AAT in April 2006 and obtained the FMAAT qualification. Julie also earned an Anniversary of Membership from AAT.
