Carver Scott Humane Society

Carver-Scott Humane Society was founded in 1989 to find homes for unwanted dogs and cats. We continue to innovate and create positive waves in animal welfare services. • CSHS rescues and rehomes over 400 companion animals every year • We are a foster-based operation with foster homes providing love and care until a permanent family is found; cats also stay in our Cat Adoption Center, opened Feb. 2016 • We provide food, medical care, spaying or neutering services, pet microchipping and other supplies to pets and families • Dedicated to supporting animals and families in the Twin Cities In addition, CSHS has developed a holistic rescue model that includes: • Surrender Prevention: Our “Fur Keeps” surrender prevention program to keep animals with their families through behavioral, medical, and qualified financial support. • Serve Where You Save – At CSHS we believe that to prevent the euthanasia of healthy and adoptable companion animals, it is critical to serve the communities where we are saving our animals to prevent them from entering the shelter or rescue system in the first place. We focus on saving cats and dogs from local impounds and do not pull animals from out of state, and we have developed integrated partnerships to provide community outreach. • Adopters Welcome – we have lowered adoption barriers and developed a conversation-based adoption process that allows us to connect more animals in need with people who care.
