Alfonso Gonzalez Montiel has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Alfonso began their career at Solvay Polymers as a Technical Manager, where they provided technical service and application development for HDPE and PP grades. Alfonso then worked at General Electric Plastics as a Lead Product Developer, specializing in the development of new products using a Design For Six Sigma approach.

Later, Alfonso joined CID, Centro de Inv. y Des. Tecnológico, where they held various roles, including Managing Director of the corporate research and development center. Alfonso was responsible for defining research initiatives and leading the research group in polymer and elastomer research. Additionally, they served as the Senior Technology Manager/Business Development Manager for the new business incubator unit, focusing on scaling up technologies and driving international sales of R&D projects.

Following that, Alfonso co-founded and served as Managing Director of Macro-M, a company specializing in nanotechnology-based product design and production. Alfonso oversaw all aspects of business and market development, expanding the customer base in Mexico, the USA, and other international markets.

Most recently, Alfonso worked at Tekniset de México, serving as the Founder, Business Developer, and Technology Director. In this role, they led the company's development and oversaw technological advancements.

Alfonso Gonzalez Montiel's education history starts in 1981 when they enrolled at Universidad Iberoamericana, Ciudad de México. Alfonso pursued a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) in Chemical Engineering, which they completed in 1985. Taking a break from studies at that point, Alfonso then returned to The University of Texas at Austin in 1990. Over the next few years, they earned both a Master's degree and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Chemical Engineering, graduating in 1992 and 1995 respectively.
