Brian Sweet

Product Engineer at CAS

Brian Sweet has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Brian started their career in 1983 at BIOSIS, where they worked as a Manager of Product Development, focusing on developing new information products and services for life scientists. Brian continued their career at Elsevier, where they served as the Director of Product Management & Marketing from 1993 to 2000. Brian then joined Ovid as the Director of Publisher Relations in 2000 and worked until 2001. Brian's longest tenure was at CAS, where they initially worked as a Senior Product Manager from 2002 to 2020. During their time at CAS, they played a crucial role in the development and product management of various online services and tools, including STN AnaVist analysis and visualization software and STN Viewer. In addition, they were responsible for the development, testing, launch, and marketing of enhancements to patent and CAS databases. Brian also briefly worked as a Product Engineer at CAS in 2020 before retiring.

Brian Sweet received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology and History from Binghamton University, where they studied from 1974 to 1978. Brian then pursued further education and obtained a Masters degree in Information Studies from Drexel University, between the years 1982 and 1985.
