Qiong Yuan

Director, Innovation Strategic Alliance at CAS

Qiong Yuan has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Starting in 1996, Yuan worked as a Research Associate at the Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry, where they gained mentorship from top scientists and participated in the commercialization of the institute. In 1998, Yuan moved to Chemical Abstracts Service, initially working as a Senior Research Scientist and later becoming the SubScape Product Manager & SciFinder Product Development Manager. In this role, Yuan commercialized a bioactivity data mining research project and led a cross-functional product development team. Yuan also spearheaded sales and marketing efforts in EMEA and the United States. In 2010, Yuan joined CAS as the General Manager for Asia, responsible for growing sales and managing P&L. During their tenure, they achieved double-digit growth in the APAC region and established local teams and representative offices in various countries. In 2017, Yuan transitioned to the role of Lead for CAS Global Solutions, focusing on expanding the business by providing solutions and changing management. Most recently, Yuan served as the Director of Innovation Strategic Alliance, where they developed a customer-centric innovation strategy and built new pathways for innovation through strategic partnerships and cross-functional collaboration.

Qiong Yuan completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Organometallic Chemistry from Wuhan University from 1986 to 1990. Following this, Qiong pursued a Ph.D. at the Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, specializing in ChemInformatics/Organic Chemistry. The Ph.D. program lasted from 1990 to 1996.
