Shih-Fan Wang

Scientific Information Analyst at CAS

Shih-Fan Wang has had a diverse range of work experiences. SHIH-FAN started as a Research Assistant at National Tsing Hua University, where they conducted investigations on the morphology of various polymer blends using small angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) data analysis. SHIH-FAN also worked as an Associate Researcher at the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), where they led projects involving the synthesis of gas barrier polymers and the development of gas barrier materials.

Wang then transitioned to become a Photolithography Engineer at POWERCHIP TECHNOLOGY CORPORATION, where they focused on photolithography processes. Following that, they joined the University of Akron where they worked as a Research Assistant and later as a Polymer Chemist. In these roles, they conducted extensive research on the synthesis and characterization of various polymers using renewable resources and alternative monomers. SHIH-FAN also published their findings in several scientific journals.

Most recently, Wang worked as a Scientific Information Analyst at CAS, where they utilized their expertise in polymer science to provide scientific information analysis. Overall, Wang has an extensive background in polymer research and synthesis, as well as experience in scientific analysis and engineering.

Shih-Fan Wang earned a PhD in Polymer Science from The University of Akron in 2011. Prior to that, they obtained a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering from National Tsing Hua University. SHIH-FAN also holds a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from the same institution. In addition to their academic qualifications, Shih-Fan Wang has obtained certifications in Japanese-language proficiency. SHIH-FAN has achieved N3 level in the Japanese-Language Proficiency Test, which was awarded by Japan Educational Exchanges and Services (JEES) in January 2018. SHIH-FAN also holds N4 level certification in the same test, obtained from JEES in January 2016.
