Derek DeBusschere

Derek DeBusschere has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Derek is currently serving as the Vice President of Research at Casana since March 2023. Prior to that, from 2016 to 2023, they worked as an Engineer at Verily Life Sciences. Before joining Verily, they were an Engineer at Google from 2014 to 2016. From 2011 to 2016, they founded and led the engineering at BlackBox Biometrics, Inc. Derek also has prior experience as the Sr. Director of Image Engineering at ZONARE Medical Systems, Inc. from 2000 to 2014.

Derek DeBusschere pursued their education in the field of Electrical Engineering. Derek first attended the University of California, Davis from 1991 to 1995, where they earned their Bachelor's Degree. Following this, they enrolled at Stanford University and completed their Ph.D. and M.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering from 1995 to 2002.
