Carmina Mares

Carmina Mares, Esq., LL.M., MBA Healthcare, is an accomplished attorney and compliance professional currently serving as the CWRU Associate University Compliance and Privacy/Export Control Officer at Case Western Reserve University, where additional roles include Chair of the Engagement Committee for the CWRU Alumni Association Board of Directors and Attorney Team Coach and Instructor for the Office of Interprofessional and Interdisciplinary Education and Research. Mares also holds a position on the Board of Directors for the NE Ohio Fulbright Association Chapter and is a member of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association as part of the 2023-2024 Leadership Academy Cohort. With previous experience as a consultant attorney at Seyfarth at Work, Mares specializes in regulatory compliance, HIPAA, and case management, complemented by an extensive educational background that includes an MBA in Health/Healthcare Management and Public Policy from the Weatherhead School of Management and an LL.M. in Global and US Legal Studies from Case Western Reserve University School of Law.
