Javed Qadrud-Din has held a variety of roles in the legal and technology industries. From 2006-2007, they were an Analyst at Lazard, Ltd., where they analyzed potential mergers and acquisitions in the pharmaceutical industry. From 2007-2009, they were a Business Analyst at Steve and Barrys, where they made capital investment decisions by modeling return on investment for various purchases and negotiating the resulting deals. From 2009-2010, they were a Parole Intern at the Alaska Public Defender Agency, where they represented indigent clients at parole revocation hearings. In 2010, they were a Summer Associate at Fenwick and West. From 2011-2014, they were an Attorney at Fenwick and West, where they provided legal advice for startup, mid, and late-stage technology companies and conducted transactions including venture financings, convertible debt financings, mergers and acquisitions, and initial public offerings (IPOs). From 2017-2018, they were an Artificial Intelligence Fellow at Insight Data Science, where they built a Python package to train embeddings that encapsulate large bodies of natural language text about entities. From 2018-2021, they were at Casetext, where they held various roles, including Director of Machine Learning, Principal Research Scientist - Machine Learning, and Machine Learning Engineer. In 2021, they joined Meta as a Machine Learning Engineer. Currently, they are the Director of Research & Development at Casetext.

Javed Qadrud-Din attended Harvard Law School from 2008 to 2011, where they graduated with a J.D. cum laude. Prior to that, they attended Cornell University from 2003 to 2007, where they received a BA with distinction.
