Chereese Phillips

Senior Director- Research Services at Casey Family Programs

Chereese Phillips, PhD has held various roles throughout their work experience. Currently, they are serving as the Senior Director of Research Services at Casey Family Programs, where they started in August 2022. In this role, they are responsible for providing data analysis and evaluation consultation to internal staff and external social service agencies across the nation. Chereese also focuses on improving data systems and promoting the use of data for policy and planning purposes.

Prior to their current position, Chereese worked as a Director of Data Advocacy at Casey Family Programs from January 2021. In this role, they were involved in modernizing data systems, developing dashboards, and promoting data-driven policy and planning efforts.

Chereese also has experience working with the United States Department of Health and Human Services-Administration on Children, Youth, and Families. Chereese served as a Program Specialist from February 2017 until January 2021. In this role, they administered discretionary grants and contracts, provided oversight and guidance to federal grantees and contractors, and supervised grant and contract reviews.

Additionally, Chereese has worked as an Adjunct Faculty member at the University of Washington since August 2022, where they share their expertise with students.

Throughout their career, Chereese has also held positions at Allegheny County Office of Children Youth and Families, JBS International, Inc., University of Pittsburgh, and College Success Foundation. Chereese'sroles included responsibilities such as promoting diversity and equity, implementing program initiatives, conducting case record reviews, and coordinating educational programs.

Chereese's work experience demonstrates their expertise in research, data analysis, policy development, and program management within the field of social services.

Chereese Phillips, PhD, pursued their educational journey in the field of Social Work. Chereese obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh, where they studied from 2009 to 2015.

Prior to their doctoral studies, Chereese pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from the University of Washington. Additionally, they completed their Master of Social Work (M.S.W.) degree at the University of Washington as well.

In addition to their academic degrees, Chereese also obtained certifications in Statistics One and Crafting an Effective Writer: Tools of the Trade. Chereese acquired these certifications from Coursera in September 2014 and September 2013, respectively.
