Nick Wiley

VP, Technology Principal at Casne Engineering

Nick serves as Corporate Officer and Manager of Casne Engineering’s Technology Services division. His duties include business development, contract negotiation, staffing, resource allocation, scheduling, project management, and quality assurance for projects involving information technology.

Nick is also active in designing and deploying technology for a wide range of applications including power generation, energy management, building automation, water treatment, and factory automation. Nick has over 20 years of professional experience in factory automation and custom software development.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Washington.

Prior to joining Casne Engineering, Nick served with Puget Sound Energy and Controlled Power, Inc. He is a member of the IEEE, ISA, Industrial Computing Society, Washington Software Association, Microsoft Developer Network, and the Greater Seattle Linux User’s Group. Nick has extensive experience integrating multi-vendor systems using information technology.

His Web development experience includes a long list of client- and server-side technologies: DHTML, CGI, XML, XSLT, CSS, ActiveX, RPC, Active Server Pages, JavaScript, Java Server Pages, Java Servlets, Java Applets, and many database technologies. He is experienced in full lifecycle software development using C++, Visual Basic, and Java under all flavors of Microsoft Windows and Unix.

Nick is experienced in the deployment of the Linux OS and many other open source software projects such as Netfilter, Apache, Tomcat, PostgreSQL, mySQL, htDig, and SendMail. Nick’s networking experience includes designing, installing, and configuring Ethernet LAN, WAN, VPN, wireless Ethernet and fiber-optic networks.
