Maria E. Kardasis

Maria E. Kardasis is an associate attorney in the firm's Chicago office. Maria focuses her practice on medical malpractice defense. Maria's experience spans all stages of litigation including pleadings, discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation. Prior to joining Cassiday, Maria worked as a law clerk at multiple Chicago litigation firms where she drafted pleadings and motions, prepared written discovery, and performed legal research. Maria's areas of interest include medical liability, construction, and transportation.

Maria earned her degree from Loyola University Chicago School of Law where she graduated magna cum laude, in the top 3% of her class, and with Dean's List Honors every semester. During law school, Maria served as President of the student Hellenic Bar Association, was a member of the Criminal Law Mock Trial Team, and was an academic tutor for first-year students in Civil Procedure and Constitutional Law courses. Maria's mock trial team advanced to the top eight teams at the National Mock Trial Competition. Maria also received a Certificate in Advocacy as well as the CALI Award for achieving the highest grade in Legal Writing I, American Legal History, and Legal Writing III.

Maria is a member of the Illinois Bar, The Chicago Bar Association, and The Hellenic Bar Association.

Outside of the office, Maria volunteers her time to the Hel.LAS Pro Bono Clinic, which provides legal services and assistance to indigent Greek-Americans. Maria is proficient in Greek and Spanish.
