Melanie Ahern has a diverse work experience that spans over several roles and industries. Melanie began their career as a Campus Ministry Intern at The Catholic Student Center in Washington University in St. Louis in 1996. Melanie then served as the Director of Campus Ministry at Aquinas Newman Center from 1997 to 2001. Afterward, they worked as the Director of Youth Ministry at Mary Seat of Wisdom Parish from 2001 to 2007. In 2009, they joined Blessed Sacrament Parish as the Director of High School & Collegiate Ministries, a role they held until 2015. In 2015, Ahern co-founded Heart To Heart Experiences, a company focused on helping local and overseas communities. Presently, they serve as the CEO of Ahern Family Foundation and Corporate Trainer at Cassidy Tire & Service, where they are also a business owner.
Melanie Ahern holds a Master of Divinity (M.Div.) degree in Theology/Theological Studies from Aquinas Institute of Theology, which they obtained from 1993 to 1997. Prior to this, they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Theology/Theological Studies and Biology from Quincy University, completing their studies from 1988 to 1993. In addition to their academic achievements, Melanie has obtained various certifications, including being a Certified Catechist for Youth & Young Adult Ministry from the Roman Catholic Diocese of Madison in 2009, a Certified Instructor from the Tire Industry Association in 2009, and Virtus certification from the Archdiocese of Chicago in 2001. Melanie also holds certifications as a Certified Catechist for Youth & Young Adult Ministry from the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Chicago in 2001 and as a Certified Campus Minister from the Catholic Campus Ministry Association in 1997.
