Deana Thorps

Deana Thorps, CPA, MBA, currently serves as Audit Manager at Castro & Company since May 2022. Prior experience includes serving as Manager of Audit Quality Initiatives at AICPA from January 2019 to May 2022 and as Audit Team Lead at NCDOT, overseeing a team of Senior Auditors from January 2015 to January 2019. Deana previously held the role of Assistant State Auditor in the Performance Division at the NC Office of the State Auditor from January 2012 to January 2015, utilizing a risk-based approach for audits. Early career experience includes positions as a Business Practice Analyst at VF Corporation and Auditor at Wright Patterson Air Force. Deana holds an MBA in Applied Management from Indiana Wesleyan University and a BS in Accounting from Central State University.
