Tom Sorell

Tom Sorell was an Executive Vice President, Advisor to the CEO, at Guardian Life Insurance Company, having previously served for 17 years as Chief Investment Officer at Guardian and its firm’s subsidiaries.

Earlier, Tom was Senior Managing Director and the head of Guardian’s Fixed Income department and President of The Park Avenue Portfolio® Family of Mutual Funds. He also co-managed several Guardian-sponsored fixed income funds.

Before joining Guardian in 1994, Tom held fixed income and investment management positions at Fund American Enterprises and AIG Investment Advisors, as well as institutional fixed income sales and research positions at Drexel Burnham Lambert and Kidder, Peabody & Company.

Tom holds an MBA from New York University and a BA from Colgate University. He has a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. He also serves on the board of the Forman School in Litchfield, CT, a college preparatory school for students with identified learning differences.
