Catbird is looking for an experienced retail Regional Manager to join the team. The Regional Manager is responsible for overseeing multiple Catbird stores (7-10 stores), to ensure that they are operating efficiently, meeting sales objectives and delivering the best customer experience possible. Reports to the Director of Customer Experience/Retail.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Director of Customer Experience/Retail to ensure stores deliver an amazing customer experience and enhance store profitability.
  • Develop store policies and procedures to ensure a positive, inclusive and safe customer and staff experience
  • Facilitate ongoing training and development that is focused on building Store Manager capabilities
  • Actively manage the store leadership pipeline to ensure succession plans are in place for each role
  • Ensure each location is fully staffed and meeting target payroll goals
  • Approve and sign off on stores scheduling and staff performance
  • Set hiring and training focuses for stores
  • Resolve all customer problems and complaints quickly and effectively, ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Ensure that stores meet Catbird’s visual merchandising standards.
  • Visuals, inventory, store cleanliness and operations so customers experience a beautiful, smooth operating and fully stocked store
  • Report on customer buying trends, requests and sales to the merchandising team
  • Work with other customer-facing department managers to ensure our customers have a consistently wonderful experience, including but not limited to, Customer Service, Marketing and Merchandising teams
  • Ensure stores meet monthly/quarterly sales goals and ensure store teams meet monthly expense budgets
  • Work cross-departmentally to achieve Catbird’s collective goals

Our Ideal Candidate

  • Has minimum 2 years experience managing multiple stores, ideally experience in store openings
  • Has a passion for helping and bringing joy to peopleIs extremely organized and can handle complex scheduling, inventory and product knowledge Is able to multi-task and balance competing priorities
  • Thrives on creating new operations and is consistently looking for opportunities to improve our store experience
  • Has a strong sense of business acumen with past experience managing to sales goals
  • Is dedicated to creating a diverse, inclusive and equitable store and employee experience
  • Has strong experience in people development and motivating teams to achieve goals
  • Experience in recruiting, hiring and performance management of their store teams
  • Has experience in setting quarterly strategies for a business and has positive results
  • Willing to travel for work (25% of the time)
  • This role is based at our Brooklyn Navy Yard offices and NYC stores
  • You must be able to work weekends when needed and be reliable to the business needs
