Genne Laakso

Genne Laakso has a diverse work experience in the jewelry industry. Starting from 2012, they worked at Catbird NYC, initially as a Wedding Manager (Studio) for over five years. They then transitioned to the role of Production Manager for one year, followed by a promotion to Senior Production Manager for three months. After that, they became the HR+ Studio Product Knowledge Manager for two years. In their most recent role at Catbird NYC, they served as the Programs Training Manager for the Jeweler Apprenticeship program.

Prior to working at Catbird NYC, Genne Laakso gained experience as a Bench Jeweler and Polisher/Bench Jeweler at Jared the Galleria of Jewelry, where they were employed for almost two years.

Furthermore, Genne Laakso held a position at Central Washington University as an Adjunct Professor in the Jewelry and Metals Department for over a year.

Genne Laakso completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) degree in Crafts with a focus on Jewelry and Metals from Kent State University from 1999 to 2004. Later, between 2006 and 2009, they pursued and obtained a Master of Fine Arts (M.F.A.) degree in Fine and Studio Arts, specializing in Jewelry and Metals, from Central Washington University.
