Rex Hockaday

Rex Hockaday is an experienced legal professional currently serving as Assistant General Counsel and Senior Corporate Counsel at Caterpillar Inc., where tenure began in 2000. Hockaday has extensive expertise in supporting digital solutions, supply chain transactions, and dispute resolution, particularly in the energy and transportation sectors. Previous roles at Caterpillar include Lead Counsel for the Global Supply Network Division, where oversight was provided for over $15 billion in annual procurement, and Lead Counsel for Caterpillar Global Mining, managing legal support for global mining operations. Hockaday also has experience from a managing attorney position in Beijing, overseeing legal services in China, and establishing the Asia Pacific IP office to support intellectual property practices. Prior to Caterpillar, Hockaday served as a Judge Advocate General in the United States Air Force. Hockaday holds a Juris Doctor degree from Lewis & Clark Law School.
