Rob L. Hoenes

Rob L. Hoenes is a vice president of Caterpillar Inc. with responsibility for the Resource Industries Operations & Products division.

Hoenes joined Caterpillar in 1990 and spent his first four years in engineering. Next, he gained 15 years of experience in various roles within sales and marketing located in North America, Europe, Africa and the Middle East. From there, Hoenes spent ten years in product management, including leading product groups for Medium Wheel Loaders, SEM and Large Dozers in Illinois and China. Most recently, he was the World-Wide Product Manager for Medium Tractor Products.

In May 2019, the Caterpillar Board of Directors appointed Hoenes to be vice president of the Material Handling & Underground division, based in East Peoria, Illinois. In April 2020, he was named to his current role.

Hoenes, a Missouri native, graduated from the University of Missouri in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
