Chris van Den Hooven

Senior Vice President, Americas at Cathay Pacific

Chris van den Hooven has a diverse and extensive work experience in the aviation industry. Chris began their career as a Reservation Sales Agent at Canadian Airlines International from 1986 to 1987. Chris then joined Cathay Pacific Airways in 1987 and held various roles such as Sales Coordinator, Account Executive, Account Manager, and General Manager. Some of their responsibilities included developing sales strategies, managing customer relationships, and implementing marketing programs. Chris also served as Country Manager in Italy, Germany, Switzerland & Scandinavia, and Vietnam, overseeing all aspects of the business and driving efficiency improvements. In their most recent position as Senior Vice President, Americas, they have been responsible for leading the airline's operations and commercial relationships in the Americas.

Chris van den Hooven attended the University of Calgary from 1993 to 1995, where they studied Marketing Management. Chris then enrolled in the British Columbia Institute of Technology in 1995 for a short period, focusing on Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services. In 2007, Chris participated in the Cathay Pacific General Managers' Program at UBC Sauder School of Business. Additionally, in 2020, they obtained certification as a Certified Practitioner of Human-Centered Design from the LUMA Institute.
