Job Summary

This position is responsible for providing mental health services and treatment for individuals/families living in Catholic Charities transitional supportive housing (TSH) program.  The clients residing in these projects are unhoused persons who may have behavioral health challenges as well as barriers to recovery, housing and employment.  The successful candidate will demonstrate ability to engage persons with histories of chronic trauma, mental illness, and the ability to successfully use short term therapies, group therapies, and other behavioral modalities in support of residents’ housing and recovery.  All services must adhere to Washington State Administrative Codes (WAC’s), state and federal guidelines regulations, and be in compliance with HIPAA and 42 CFR, Pt 2.  

Job Duties/Responsibilities

  1. Provide high quality mental health services in accordance with state and federal regulations and standards, including counseling, therapy, crisis response, and behavior interventions to TSH participants

  2. Maintains all documentation of mental health care according to contract, state and federal guidelines; and state and federal privacy standards, and community standards.

  3. Develops, in consultation with the Behavioral Health Havens/Catalyst Director and in collaboration with colleagues, a highly accessible therapeutic environment for Catalyst participants.

  4. Work independently in a satellite office using appropriate administrative, fiscal, physical, and technical safeguards to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and security of CCEW client protected health information (PHI), per regulations outlined in the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) and 42 CFR, Pt 2.

  5. Uses appropriate administrative, fiscal, physical, and technical safeguards to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and security of CCEW client protected health information (PHI), per regulations outlined in the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA).

  6. Able to proficiently utilize all forms of communication (email, text, phone, etc.) and database practices necessary for this position and as directed by supervisor.

  7. As a mandated reporter, follows all procedures outlined in agency policies and procedures to report to the proper agency when there is suspicion and/or confirmation that a child or vulnerable adult has been a victim of abuse or neglect.

  8. Accurately accounts for time worked according to agency standards.

  9. Adheres to the tenets of Catholic Social Teaching and Catholic Doctrine.

  10. Performs related functions as assigned to support program success as well as the mission and core values of Catholic Charities.

Job Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must meet the minimum qualifications listed below.  These qualifications are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to perform this job. 

*Education/Experience:*To perform this job successfully, an individual must have a current Washington State issued credential LMHC(A), LMFT(A), or LICSW(A) and at least 2 years behavioral health experience working with persons impacted by homelessness and co-occurring disorders.  

*Certificates/Licenses:*To perform this job successfully, an individual must a have a valid Driver’s License and ability to drive for work use. Successfully pass background check applicable to position. 

Physical Abilities:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to:

  • Regularly sit, stand, climb, walk, hear/listen, talk
  • Frequently lift up to 10 pounds, pull/push, carry, grasp, reach
  • Occasionally crawl, stoop, kneel
  • Clearly see 20+ feet, with or without corrective lenses, ability to focus

Workplace Environmental Conditions

While performing the essential duties/responsibilities of this job, the employee will be:

  • Noise Conditions: exposed during a shift to constant or intermittent sounds at moderate to loud levels of sound dependent upon daily activities.
  • Exposure to Trauma: Employees of Catholic Charities Eastern Washington provide direct services to vulnerable community members including those who have behavioral health challenges and those who have experienced trauma.
  • Potential for exposure to illicit drugs and air-borne contaminants (proper PPE provided).
