Iva Petkova is currently serving as a Staff Attorney in the Immigration Legal Services Program at Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of New York since September 2023. Previous roles include a Masiyiwa-Bernstein Fellowship at Namati, a legal internship with Legal Services NYC focusing on Immigrants' Rights and Advocacy, and a position as a Student Legal Advisor to the Permanent Mission of Tonga at the United Nations. Iva has also held fellowships and internships with organizations such as the Southern Africa Litigation Centre, Human Rights First, and the Refugee Solidarity Network. Notably, Iva has extensive experience in educational development as a Global Leadership and Development Officer and Curriculum Associate at Bridge International Academies. Iva holds a Doctor of Law (JD) from New York University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, Human Rights, and French from the University of Connecticut.
