Mostafa Kamal has a diverse range of work experience in various organizations. Mostafa started their career as a Research Officer at the University of Dhaka in 2002, where they worked until 2007. Mostafa then joined Habitat for Humanity International as the National Disaster Response Manager from 2007 to 2008. After that, they worked at Save the Children US as a Coordinator for the Bangladesh Emergency Liaison Team from 2008 to 2011. In 2011, they joined Project Concern International as the Deputy Team Leader for Disaster Risk Management. Mostafa then moved on to CARE as a Senior Technical Manager for Urban Resilience from 2015 to 2016. Most recently, they worked at Catholic Relief Services, where they held multiple roles, including Program Manager II and Lead Chhuk State Office, Lead for Disaster Risk Reduction and Resilience, and Technical Adviser for the Disaster Risk Reduction Program.

Mostafa Kamal completed a Master's Degree in Geography & Environment from the University of Dhaka in 2001. Mostafa later pursued a Master's Degree in Disaster Management from BRAC University, which they completed in 2008.
