Jackie Shutack Wong has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of public relations and communications. Jackie currently holds the position of Director of Public Relations & Communications at Catholic Health, starting in 2023. Prior to this, Jackie served as the Deputy Director of Communications at Long Island University from 2022 to 2023, where they were responsible for managing relationships with media contacts and creating engaging content for the university's website.
Before joining Long Island University, Jackie worked as the Vice President of Healthcare at DKC from 2021 to 2022. During their time there, they executed media strategies for key accounts and utilized their extensive network of media connections to secure media placements for clients, resulting in over 1 million media impressions.
From 2019 to 2021, Jackie held the role of Senior Media Associate in the Public Affairs Department at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. In this role, they played an integral part in managing media relations for multiple hospital locations and service lines, securing media placements on regional and national outlets. Jackie also contributed to the hospital's COVID-19 media outreach efforts, generating over 1 billion media impressions.
Prior to their tenure at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, Jackie served as the Manager of Public and Community Affairs at NewYork-Presbyterian Queens from 2015 to 2019. During this time, they oversaw internal and external communications for the hospital, managed media relations, and negotiated sponsorships and participation in external events to increase the hospital's brand presence in the Queens community.
Jackie's career in the media industry started in 2006, where they worked as a General Assignment Reporter for Central Florida News 13 until 2008. Jackie then joined WFMZ-TV as a General Assignment Reporter from 2008 to 2010. In 2010, they briefly worked as a Segment Producer at MSNBC before becoming a Multimedia Journalist at WRNN Fios1 News from 2011 to 2012.
Throughout their career, Jackie has demonstrated strong communication skills, media relations expertise, and the ability to execute successful PR campaigns.
Jackie Shutack Wong attended Notre Dame Academy from 1992 to 1999. Jackie then went on to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in Broadcast Journalism from Syracuse University from 1999 to 2003.
