The partnership with Medtronic will expand CathWorks’ footprint globally, enabling more patients to benefit from its revolutionary technology that is poised to disrupt the current coronary physiology market.

We’re looking for an experienced, professional system engineer with background in medical devices. The system engineer will supervise and direct the development of new hardware platforms and respond to needs of previous platform generations. The work requires creation of system specifications, working with external engineering companies, selection of components and contributing to regulatory processes. In addition, the position involves technical supervision over the manufacturing facility, dealing with ongoing production challenges, as well as handling system-related feedback received from customers. All these must be performed while maintaining quality and safety and reducing cost and risk.

The job requires project management and supervision capabilities, but at the same time deep engineering knowledge and hands-on skills.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Report to VP R&D and Israel Site Leader

  • Build engineering work plans and service plans based on clear KPIs

  • Design future HW platforms, either hands-on or using external contractors, which comprise of mechanical and electrical components, either off-the-shelf or custom made

  • Define and track products' changes, i.e., ECO processes and implementation

  • Implement new product revisions, facilitate design transfer to mass production and oversee the assembly of new developed products on the production floor

  • Analyze quality issues and manage remedial activities to enable production line continuity (e.g., MRB and production deviations)

  • Support production failure analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions to improve products’ quality

  • Make sure that the company’s design flow and products comply with industry standards. Coordinate and supervise testing in external labs.

  • Manage sub-contractors for assembly lines, parts manufacturing, certification status, and ongoing improvement of production processes.

  • Improve product robustness by maintaining and enhancing a suite of system related tests

  • Come up with initiatives and ideas to make the company’s products more efficient and cost effective. Lead 2nd source & cost reduction activities from engineering aspects

  • Be a point of contact for system related issues in customer sites

Job Qualifications and Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of experience as a system engineer. Must have experience with multi-disciplinary systems
  • Sc. in Engineering from a high-ranked university. M.Sc. – An advantage
  • Proven experience in mechanical design (SolidWorks)
  • Experience with IT-based systems
  • Experience with electrical safety standards (e.g., IEC 60601, 60950) and accreditation bodies (e.g., SII, CSA, etc.)
  • Experience in manufacturing/production environment
  • Experience working with external vendors and sub-contractors
  • Technical sense and hands-on experience with hardware assembly and system integration
  • Previous employment in a medical devices company – An advantage
  • Experience in electronic development (interface or board level) – An advantage
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • The position requires visits to the production facility in northern Israel periodically.
