Mary Kurzweil grew up on a diverse cow-calf, hog, and row crop farm in West-Central Missouri. She attended Oklahoma State University and received a bachelor’s degree in both Mathematics and Agricultural Economics. She then went to Kansas State University where she received her master’s degree in agricultural economics in the Spring of 2021. At Kansas State, her main research focus and thesis topic were around price discovery in the cattle market.
Before coming to CattleFax, Mary worked as full-time as an intern, and then part-time remotely while doing her master’s, for Dairy Farmers of America doing data analysis within the business intelligence department. Mary began as an analyst at CattleFax in the June of 2021. Her main responsibilities are research and analysis of the hog, pork, and dairy markets and other data analysis for various sectors of cattle and beef.
