Youri Beekmans

Youri Beekmans has a diverse and extensive work experience that spans various industries and roles.

In 2014, Beekmans worked as a Junior Engineer at Gems Metaalwerken, where they were involved in the production of stainless steel tanks and equipment. Youri also worked on projects related to recycling and mobile storage for petrochemical and water treatment industries.

In 2015, Beekmans joined QING Groep as an Ondersteunend Engineer at QING Mechatronics. Youri'srole involved supporting clients in optimizing their production processes through the development, construction, installation, and maintenance of machines and equipment. Youri demonstrated problem-solving skills by conceptualizing and implementing solutions.

The same year, Beekmans also worked at Biostream International BV as a Research and Development Engineer. Youri was responsible for designing special bioreactors using SolidWorks. Youri collaborated with customers to create process flow diagrams (PFD) and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID). Beekmans gained experience in conducting CFD simulations using SimScale. Youri also contributed to the creation of user requirement specifications (URS) and performed factory acceptance tests (FAT) and site acceptance tests (SAT).

Beekmans further expanded their skillset by working at Veco Precision from 2018 to 2022. Youri began as a Technisch Tekenaar, where they were involved in mechanical design tasks and updating the PDM system. Youri then served as a Junior Engineer, working on the design of electroforming baths, product handling systems, and wafer positioning systems. Beekmans was responsible for simplifying AutoCAD drawings and managing changes in civil drawings. Youri also supervised interns and liaised with suppliers and external analysis bureaus. Later, they took on the role of a Junior Projectleider, responsible for preparing and leading projects related to new equipment installation or modification of existing hardware. Beekmans supported clients in defining project requirements and problem analysis, developed project initiation documents, and coordinated external parties.

In addition to their engineering roles, Beekmans pursued their passion for photography. Youri worked as a Freelance Fotograaf under their personal brand, Youri-Beekmans.com, since 2011. During this time, they gained experience in various photography projects.

Most recently, Beekmans joined VIRO in 2022 as a Project Engineer. Details about this role are not provided, but it showcases Beekmans' continuous professional growth and their ability to adapt to new environments and challenges.

Youri Beekmans completed their VWO degree in the field of Natuur & Gezondheid at Gerrit Komrij College from 2008 to 2014. Following that, from 2014 to 2017, they attended Hogeschool van Arnhem en Nijmegen (HAN) where they studied Werktuigbouwkunde. In addition to their formal education, they obtained several certifications, including Certified SOLIDWORKS Associate - Additive Manufacturing (CSWA-AM), Certified SOLIDWORKS Professional Advanced Sheet Metal (CSWPA-SM), SOLIDWORKS: Advanced Part Modelling & Complex Surfaces, VCA-VOL, and Certified SOLIDWORKS Associate.
