Newton Yorinori

Newton Yorinori has extensive experience in the agricultural industry. Newton started their career in 2001 as a Seed Operations Manager at Frito-Lay. Newton then worked at PepsiCo as Agro Research & Development Manager, where they re-designed the Agro R&D Center and increased the volume of potato nuclear seed. Newton later became the Agro Operations & Development Manager at Frito-Lay, where they managed agricultural field operations and established strategic alliances. Yorinori then joined PepsiCo again as the Agribusiness Director for South America, Central America, and the Caribbean, where they designed sourcing strategies and developed sustainable grower partnerships. Newton then moved on to McCain Foods, serving as the Regional Agricultural Director for Asia Middle East & North Africa, where they developed strategic sourcing models for potatoes in China and India. Currently, Yorinori is the Vice President of Ag Research & Development at Cavendish Farms, where they have played a significant role in developing strategic seed sourcing models and coordinating a high-generation seed production program. Overall, Yorinori has demonstrated a strong track record in driving growth, improving quality, and ensuring a reliable supply of raw materials in the agriculture industry.

Newton Yorinori completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Agronomy from the Universidade Federal do Paraná, which they attended from 1989 to 1993. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Plant Pathology from the Universidade de Brasília, where they studied from 1994 to 1997.
