Dr. Linda Shepherd

Dr. Linda Shepherd currently serves as the Executive Healthcare Consultant and Interim Chief Nursing Officer at the Cayman Islands Health Services Authority since April 2022. With extensive experience in nursing leadership, Dr. Shepherd has held prominent roles such as Chief Nursing Officer and Associate Administrator at Ballad Health from 2017 to 2022, and Chief Nursing Officer at Mountain States Health Alliance from 2016 to 2017. Dr. Shepherd's clinical operations expertise spans acute inpatient care, outpatient services, and long-term care, encompassing various departments including surgical services, emergency care, and quality management. Earlier positions include Chief Nursing Officer at HCA - LewisGale Hospital Pulaski and Director of Critical Care Services at HCA, with foundational roles including Director of Surgical Services at Carilion Clinic and RN roles in critical care and emergency services. Dr. Shepherd holds a Doctorate in Nursing Practice with a focus on Health Systems Leadership from James Madison University and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Lynchburg.
