Brett R.

Brett R. has over 25 years of experience in software engineering and development. Brett began their career in 1996 as a Software Engineer (co-op) at Stratus Computer, Inc. In 1997, they moved to Data General Corporation as a Sr. Software Engineer, where they worked on firmware and device driver development. In 1999, they joined EMC Corporation as a Sr. Software Engineer in the Centera Object Storage Division, where they led development, kernel driver, failure analysis, and reliability/availability/serviceability (RAS) efforts. In 2005, they became a Contract Principal Software Engineer at Nokia Siemens Networks. Brett then moved to Tervela in 2007 as a Team Lead/Principal Software Engineer, where they led the team which architected and developed Tervela's Guaranteed Delivery message fabric feature. From 2009 to 2012, they worked at Netezza as a Team Lead/Principal Software Engineer. Brett then joined IBM in 2012 as a Principal Software Engineer and SW Development Team Lead. In 2015, they joined Cazena as Director of Engineering, Cloud Infrastructure and Site Reliability, where they led the site reliability engineering team focused on the fully automated, fully managed Instant Data Lake SaaS experience. Most recently, in 2021, they joined Cloudera as Sr. Manager, CDP SaaS Engineering.

Brett R. graduated from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering, with distinction. In December 2019, they obtained the AWS Certified Developer - Associate certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS).
