Katie Herron Robb, CMA has extensive experience in finance and operations. Katie is currently the Director of Financial Planning and Operations at CBS Philadelphia, a role they have held since May 2023. Prior to this, Katie worked at TEGNA, where they held various positions. From November 2021 to May 2023, they served as the Regional Finance Director, overseeing multiple business units in different locations. From June 2019 to November 2021, Katie was an Analytic Supervisor, responsible for driving change and innovation within TEGNA's field analytics structure. As an FP&A Regional Financial Analyst from June 2016 to June 2019, they were responsible for financial analysis and support for multiple media properties across the US. Katie also served as a Regional Accounting Specialist and Staff Accountant for KARE-11 during their time at TEGNA. Before joining TEGNA, Katie worked as a Host for Slumberland Furniture's Design Web Series "The ReArranger" from January 2016 to January 2020. Katie also served as an Executive Committee Member at the Minnesota Association for Experiential Learning from July 2012 to November 2013. Additionally, Katie has a background in theater, having been an Ensemble Member and Office Manager at Pangea World Theater from September 2000 to August 2013.
Katie Herron Robb, CMA, has a diverse education history that includes both theatre arts and accounting. Katie began their education journey in 2000 at the University of Minnesota, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre Arts. During their time there, Katie focused on developing their skills in the dramatic arts until their graduation in 2004.
In 2002, Katie had the opportunity to study at Flinders University's Drama Department as part of their educational pursuits. This experience allowed their to further expand their knowledge and understanding of the field of drama. Additionally, in 2003, Katie attended the Dah Teatar in Belgrade, Serbia, where they participated in the International School for Actors and Directors. Although no degree was obtained during their time at these institutions, they provided valuable international exposure and training for Katie in the performing arts.
However, Katie's educational path took a shift towards accounting in 2015 when they enrolled at Metro State University to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. Over the course of three years, from 2015 to 2018, Katie immersed herself in the study of accounting, gaining a solid foundation in the field.
To supplement their education, Katie pursued various certifications. In 2017, they achieved membership in the IMA Accounting Honor Society (IAHS). Subsequently, in 2019, Katie earned two certifications from the Certified Management Accountant: CMA®. These certifications include the designation of Certified Management Accountant and a second certification also labeled as Certified Management Accountant (CMA). These achievements further validate Katie's expertise and commitment to the field of accounting.
Most recently, in 2021, Katie completed a certification in Data Analytics and Visualization for Accounting Professionals from the Gies College of Business at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. This certification highlights Katie's dedication to staying current with the latest advancements in accounting and data analysis.
