Javier Cortes

Javier Cortes is a highly experienced geologist with a robust professional background spanning over two decades in various geological roles. Currently serving as the Senior Geologist Team Leader at C&C Reservoirs since February 2021, Javier previously held significant positions such as Chief Geologist at Glencore UK Ltd. from April 2015 to July 2020 and Consultant Geologist at BG Group from February 2005 to April 2015, where responsibilities included leading subsurface operations in multiple international projects. Earlier experience includes roles as Senior Geologist at Halliburton, Well-site Geologist at Geoservices, and Exploration Geologist at Ecopetrol, as well as beginning a career as a Mud-logger Geologist. Javier holds a Master of Science in Petroleum Geoscience with Distinction from The University of Manchester, a Bachelor of Science with First Honours in Geology/Earth Science from The Central University of Ecuador, and a Bachelor of Technology in Mining and Mineral Engineering from the Colombian National Mining Institute.
