Tom Fleming has a diverse work experience in the field of emergency medical services and fire rescue. Tom started their career as an EMT/Firefighter in various volunteer Fire and EMS organizations from 1989 to 1997. Tom then worked as a Firefighter/Paramedic at the Ashland Fire Department from 1997 to 2002, where they held additional roles such as Public Educator and POC Coordinator. During this time, they also gained experience as a HAZMAT Technician, Public Safety Diver, and Fire Inspector. From 2002 to 2005, they served as the Fire Chief at NFR, where they performed administrative, managerial, and incident command duties for a combined career and volunteer fire/rescue department. Tom wrote grants and designed a new fire station during this period. Tom joined North Memorial Health in 2012 as a Field Training Officer, and they continued in this role until 2020. From 2010 to 2012, they also served as a Pastor at Grace Community Church. Tom then became the Ambulance Director at North Shore Health from May 2020 to December 2022. Currently, Tom works at CCM Health as the Emergency Medical Services Manager since March 2023.
Tom Fleming attended the University of Wisconsin-Barron County from 1990 to 1992 and obtained an Associate's Degree. Later, from 1995 to 1996, they attended WITC-Ashland and received a Certificate in Advanced Intensive Care Paramedic. Lastly, from 2008 to 2010, they enrolled at Crown College and completed a Dual Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Bible/Theology and Religious Studies.
