Ben Wood has a diverse and extensive work experience in the technology industry. Ben began their career at Vodafone, where they played a key role in the introduction of wireless data services and the development of the Business Partners Programme. Ben then joined Lucent Technologies, where they worked on applications and services for GSM, GPRS, and 3G technologies.
After that, Wood worked at Mobile Streams as the Business Development Director, overseeing the company's provision of non-voice services and technologies. Ben later joined Gartner as the Research VP for Mobile Devices, leading a global team of technology analysts and becoming one of the most widely quoted Gartner analysts on the topic of mobile devices.
In 2006, Wood transitioned to CCS Insight and took on various leadership roles, including Research Director, Chief of Research, and currently, the Chief Analyst & CMO. At CCS Insight, they spearheaded the launch of new service areas, supported the company's expansion, and focused on building the company's brand awareness and marketing programs.
In 2020, Wood founded the Mobile Phone Museum, a project aimed at safeguarding an important collection of mobile devices and promoting technology education. Overall, Wood's work experience showcases their expertise in research, leadership, business development, and marketing in the technology industry.
Ben Wood attended Lincoln University (NZ) from 1990 to 1994, where they studied European Marketing & French. Prior to that, they also attended King Edward's School, Bath, although specific dates were not provided.
