Danielle Fernandez

Health Scientist at CDC Foundation

Danielle Fernandez, MPH, is a Health Scientist at the CDC Foundation since February 2022, leading a drowning data collection project in Ghana to analyze fatal and non-fatal drownings and build local capacity for public health data collection. Previously, Danielle served as a PHI/CDC Global Health Surveillance Fellow, providing expertise in HIV epidemiology and response to COVID-19 at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Danielle's earlier experience includes conducting epidemiological investigations at the Florida Department of Health in Miami-Dade County, where a significant outbreak of Zika virus was managed, and engaging in community health research at both Drexel University and the Foundation for International Medical Relief of Children. Danielle holds a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology from Drexel University and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, with a focus on International Humanitarian Assistance and Development from the University of Florida.
